Minibus General Hire Information
In order to access our vehicles an LCT membership form must be filled in on our website and submitted back to us at your earliest convenience.
Memberships are £15 per year which will only be billed after you confirm a booking. Anyone involved in the organisation can enquire about bookings and vehicle availability although they will be redirected back to the named contact on the account in order to make the booking.
All bookings must be in writing by email or letter, the email address is info@liverpoolct.co.uk. Please include the following information:
- Group name
- Name of Driver
- Date/s and time of travel
- Full address of destination
- Where the vehicle will be kept overnight (If applicable).
- Purpose of the trip
- Passenger list provided (names only)
Self-drive minibuses are charged at £70 per day which includes insurance, all fuel used must be replace to avoid any excess charges. We allow 100 miles travelling per day, any excess mileage over this is charged at 15p per mile.
Drivers must be over 25 with a D1 classification on their licence. Further procedures are in place to check licence information before each trip; this will be discussed when booking the vehicle.
Groups that intend to use the Runcorn Bridge/Mersey Gateway Bridge must ensure the toll is paid on the same day/s as the vehicle hire. Proof of payment (i.e. a receipt) must be emailed over to info@liverpoolct.co.uk on the same day as hire. Please ensure the correct toll is paid as Liverpool Community Transport will not be responsible for any fine that may result in an underpayment.
If you need one of our drivers, we will require the following further information in order to supply a costing for the trip:
- Date/s of travel
- Pick up time & place – including postcode
- Return pick up time & place – including postcode
- Full address of destination
- Purpose of the trip
In addition, we ask that you inform us prior to your trip if there is any baggage to be transported.

ABOUT US
Our History
Liverpool Community Transport is a registered charity set up in 1972 with the aim of providing community groups, schools and community and voluntary organisations around Merseyside with a safe, affordable, reliable and accessible transport provision.
Since 1999 LCT has held contracts with Liverpool City Council to transport children with special educational needs to and from school. The number of these contracts has grown steadily year on year since the introduction of this service into the organisation.
