Established in 1972 Liverpool Community Transport is now the longest standing and most cost effective transport provision in the North West.

Liverpool Community Transport is a registered charity (charity reg’ number: 515736) with the aim of providing community groups, schools, community and voluntary organisations around Merseyside with a safe, affordable, reliable and accessible transport provision.

Since 1999 LCT has held contracts with Liverpool City Council to transport children with special educational needs to and from school. The number of these contracts has grown steadily year on year since the introduction of this service into the organisation. Additionally, the City Council contracts operated by LCT subsidises the community transport provision provided since grant aid funding ended.

In addition to the school contracts, LCT offers a wide range of community transport & transport support to community and voluntary groups, schools and other organisations including vehicle and equipment hire, information and guidance, training facilities, vehicle inspection, garaging, servicing and MOT’s and volunteering opportunities.

LCT currently have over 60 staff including individuals with special needs on long term work placements. LCT is committed to investing in its organisation and workforce to ensure excellent standards of service are offered to its customer base.
